RoboDot Touch Screen UI
The RoboDot Touch Screen UI is designed for rapid access to the unit's status without the necessity to connect or interface with additional devices or applications. In version 5 the screen grows from a status display into a set of task screens — survey, base control, stakeout, and file checks all run right on the device.
Home Screen
The Home Screen is the default view when the RoboDot device is powered on. It prominently displays the unit's IP address and status, providing users with an at-a-glance overview of the device's health and connectivity. A QR code is also accessible on this screen, allowing users to quickly load the web UI on a browser, simplifying the process of managing and configuring the device.
Screen Launcher
Tap the Home screen's background to open the launcher — a grid of one-tap buttons for Survey, Base, Stakeout, Files, Settings, and Home. The header shows the installed firmware version, the first thing to check when comparing units or contacting support.
GNSS Screen
The GNSS Screen provides crucial status information related to satellite navigation, including the quality of the fix, which is important for ensuring accurate positional data. A QR code on this screen allows users to simplify the process of copying or sharing position information, making it convenient for note-taking or sharing with others quickly. This feature enhances usability by providing a streamlined method to disseminate vital GNSS data.
Survey Screen
The Survey screen shows the live position and fix quality, and — when the device is a rover — a Shoot button that records a point at the current fix straight into the active job's shot file. Marking points no longer requires a phone or browser. If the device is not in rover mode, the screen explains why and offers Make Rover in place.
Base Screen
The Base screen carries the live position plus the Survey / Release control for setting and releasing the base position — the same operation as the web UI's Status page, available at the pole.
Stakeout Screen
A needle dial that points at your chosen target and counts down the distance, with a bullseye inside 0.25 m. Targets come from job shot files and Favorites. See stakeout.
Files Screen
Answers "what is this unit writing right now?" at a glance: the active shot (.sht) and observation (.rub) file names update live, alongside per-job point and file counts and the SD card's free space.
Settings Screen
The Settings Screen provides a clear interface for users to easily view and modify key settings. This intuitive setup improves efficiency and enhances the overall user experience by making essential controls available quickly without the need to deploy a Web device.
When making changes to settings using toggles or dropdown menus, it is important to note that these changes will not be saved until you press the Home button. Additionally, most setting changes will only take effect upon the next restart. This ensures that users can make multiple adjustments without them being applied immediately, providing flexibility to finalize changes before they are implemented.
Don't forget to save any changes to the toggles by clicking Home.
